Why Do You Hate Me?
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Brent's BRAND NEW PROGRAM, Why Do You Hate Me? explores the issues of HATE on a much deeper level. In
this program, Brent takes his collective experiences
and shares with his audience not only the issues of
hate and diversity but also self-hate and how it
affects our self-confidence, self-esteem and
self-worth. We answer the question, What is it that
we love so little about ourselves that we feel a need
to hate someone else or ourselves?
This interactive as well as audience driven program is highly motivational in nature and explores the various behaviors seen on campuses where students are sabotaging their educational career. We look at abusive behaviors such as binge drinking, drug usage, gambling, perfectionism, anorexia, as well as many more.
As we explore those behaviors we use to sabotage our personal success, Brent identifies the key components of why we choose these behaviors as well as the necessary solutions to help manage these behaviors and allow students to become the vibrant successful and creative people they were meant to become in this world.
The audience is guided in the exploration of several key questions, including:
1. What are some of the behaviors we see on campuses right now that sabotage our educational careers?
2. What keeps us from being the creative and prosperous beings that we are meant to be?
3. What steps can we take to better our self-worth and manage those behaviors that promote self-hate.
Audiences will leave the program transformed, enlightened, and ready to take their next step in making a difference in the world while making a difference in themselves.
* Interactive exercises are done in which the audience members come up on stage and define for themselves the definition of both hate and self-hate.
* The program leader introduces examples of behaviors that students choose to sabotage their personal journey as well as the solutions to overcome them.

Customized Workshops
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Each of the speaking programs in this section can be
created in a customized workshop. Workshops are
generally 2 hours, 1/2 day or full day depending on
time, budget and needs of the college. Both Brent Scarpo and Patti Ramey have extensive backgrounds in leading such workshops and will lead the workshop separately or as a team, depending on the type selected.
Our workshops have been created for student leaders, Greeks, student affairs, residential life as well as many others. Journey, Why Do You Hate Me?, Coming Out, Mama D, Road to Hollywood and Last Call speaking programs become the foundation for the workshop and we work with each school to identify the areas most needed when it comes to creating the customized workshop for your school. Each workshop is very hands on and group oriented and explores deeper into the issues that a speaking program can not reach.
This workshop was customized for Shepherd College where student affairs and residential life staff and students gathered for a two-hour-workshop. Utilizing raw footage from the award-winning documentary, participants were given a deeper meaning to the issues of hate crimes on college campuses while given specific exercises and scenarios of hate crimes that have occurred on other campuses and the means to develop their problem solving techniques when it came to each scenario.
Coming Out - The Never Ending Story Workshop
This workshop was customized for Hoftra University where student affairs, residential life, administration and students gathered for a two hour workshop. Utilizing raw footage from our documentary, Journey to a Hate Free Millennium, as well as discussion and group exercises, the university was better able to understand their GLBT community, their needs as a community and how to better service this population as their allies.

Speakers We Recommend
SPEAKERS WE RECOMMEND DESCRIPTION
As a professional speaker, I only speak on topics that
I am passionate about and that come from my heart.
Each one of my speaking topics is part of who I am as
a person and feel a need to share with the world. I
also pride myself on being an expert on these topics.
This kind of philosophy is not shared by all speakers
and limits me in the types of programs I am able to
present.
Given my philosophy on speaking, it is my pleasure to recommend truly amazing speakers who speak on subject matters that I believe are very important for the world to hear and that I am not an expert. Each of the speakers below are personal friends of mine and I have witnessed the power of their programs. I highly recommend each one of them and invite you to look at their websites as well topic information.
